The Book of MATTHEW

Chapter 5

The Beatitudes 5:1-12
1 And seeing the throngs, he ascended into the mountain and sat down, and his
disciples came to him. 2 and opening his mouth taught them saying, 3 "Happy
are the poor ones to the spirit, that theirs is the Kingdom of the heavens.
4 Happy are the ones mourning that they shall be consoled.
5 Happy are the meek ones, that they shall be enjoying the allotment of the
land.
6 Happy are the ones hungering and thirsting righteousness, that they shall
be satisfied.
7 Happy are the merciful ones, that they shall be shown mercy.
8 Happy are the ones clean of heart, that they shall be seeing God.
9 Happy are the peace makers, that they shall be called sons of God.
10 Happy are the ones having been persecuted on account of righteousness,
that theirs is the Kingdom of the heavens.
11 Happy are you whenever they reproach you, they persecute you. and they
falsifying every wicked against you on account of me, 12 You should be
Rejoicing! and Exulting! that the wages of you are vast in the heavens, for
they persecuted the prophets before you.

Salt and Light 5:13-16
13 You are the salt of the earth, and if ever the salt is made insipid (bland), what shall it be salted into, nothing still availing, if not being cast outside to be tramped by the humans.  14 You are the light of the world, a city cannot be hid located upon a mountain, 15 neither are they burning a lamp and placing it under the peck-measure but on the lamp stand, and it is shinning to all the one in the house. 16 Thus, let it shine! the light of you in front of the humans, so that they may see of you the ideal acts, and should be glorifying the father of you in the heavens.

The Fulfillment of the Law 5:17-20
17 You should not be inferring that I came to demolish the law, or the prophets. I came not to demolish, but to fulfill. 18 For Amen I say to you, till everything is fulfilled on heaven and earth, not one iota or one serif shall pass from the law, till everything occurs.

19 Who ever is then annulling one of the laws, are the last to be teaching humans, he shall be the last one called into the kingdom of the heavens: but who ever is doing and teaching, this great one same shall be called into the kingdom of the heavens.

20 For I am saying to you, that if you never exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, you will not be entering into the Kingdom of the heavens.

Murder 5:21-26
21 You heard that it was declared to the ancients, you shall not be murdering, and who ever is murdering will be liable to judging. 22 But I am saying to you, that everyone being angry to his brother will be liable to the judging, and whoever may be saying to his brother, Raca! (Worthless) will be liable to the Sanhedrin (council of the ancient Jews), and whoever may be saying, Stupid! will be liable into the Gehenna (hell) of fire.

23 If ever than, you are offering your oblation (offering) on the altar, and there you should be reminded that your brother has anything against you, 24 leave your oblation there in front of the altar, and go first placated to your brother and then come offering your oblation.

25 Be you humoring (agreeable) to your plaintiff quickly while you are with him on the way, if not, the plaintiff may give you up to the judge, and the judge to the deputy and into jail you will be cast. 26 Amen I am saying to you, you may not be coming out thence until ever you pay the last quadrans (a bronze coin, quarter).

Adultery 5:27-30
27 You hear that is was declared you shall not be committing adultery, 28 and
I am saying to you that everyone looking toward the woman to lust her,
already commits adultery in their heart. 29 So if your right eye is snaring
you, wrench it out and cast it from you. For it is being expedient to you to
destroy one of your members, and not the whole body of you being cast into
Gehenna (hell). 30 And if your right hand is snaring you, strike her off you and cast it from you, for it is being expedient to you to destroy one of your members, and not your whole body pass-away into Gehenna (hell).

Divorce 5:31-32
31 And it was declared who ever should dismiss his wife, let him give her a divorce, 32 but I am saying to you that everyone dismissing his wife outside the case of prostitution is making her to be adulterer, and who ever should marry the one having been dismissed is committing adultery.

Oaths 5:33-37
33 Again you hear that it was declared to the ancients, you shall not be perjuring, but you shall be paying to the Lord your oaths. 34 But I am saying to you, not to swear at all, neither on the heaven; that throne is God's: 35 nor on the earth, that footstool if for his feet; nor on Jerusalem, that city is the Great King's; 36 nor on your head should you swear, you are not able to make one hair white or black. 37 But let the word of you be, yes for yes, and no for no; for excess of these is out of the wicked one.

An Eye for an Eye 5:38-42
38 You hear it was declared, eye instead of eye, and tooth instead of tooth. 39 But I am saying to you, not to withstand the wicked person, but anyone who slaps your right cheek, turn to him also the other. 40 And to the one willing to sue you to obtain your tunic, to him let him also have the cloak. 41 And anyone who conscript (compulsorily drafts) you for one mile, go away with him two. 42 To the one requesting you to give and the one wanting to borrow from you, you are not to turn away.

Love for Enemies 5:43-48
43 You hear that it was declared you shall be loving your neighbor, and you shall be hating your enemy. 44 But I am saying to you, you love your enemy and you pray for the ones persecuting you. 45 So that you may become the sons of your father, the one in heaven, that rises the sun on the wicked and the good, and it rains on the just and unjust. 46 If you only love the ones loving you, what wages are you having, don't the tribute collectors do the same. 47 and if you only greet your brothers, what excessive are you doing, don't the ones of the nations do the same. 48 You shall then be perfect (mature), as your heavenly father is perfect (mature).
